Bluesnooze
Prevents your sleeping computer from connecting to Bluetooth accessories
Bluesnooze is a macOS utility that automatically disables Bluetooth when the computer enters sleep mode and re‑enables it upon waking. By toggling the Bluetooth power state, it prevents a sleeping Mac from intermittently connecting to paired accessories such as headphones or speakers, which can otherwise interrupt audio playback on other devices. The application runs in the menu bar and can be configured to start at login.
The tool is intended for macOS users who experience unwanted Bluetooth connections while their machine is idle, particularly those who share Bluetooth peripherals between a Mac and other devices. It offers a simple on/off toggle rather than selective device management, keeping the implementation straightforward.
Bluesnooze requires macOS Monterey (12.0) or later and is distributed as a notarized app or via Homebrew. It does not work with the “Allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac” feature and cannot be distributed through the App Store because it relies on a private API for Bluetooth control. Users can hide or restore the menu‑bar icon through terminal commands.
