Cakebrewjs
Homebrew GUI app
The application provides a graphical interface for managing Homebrew packages on macOS and Linux. Users can install, uninstall, and pin both formulae and casks, view information about packages, see dependencies, and monitor disk space usage. It also offers controls for starting and stopping Homebrew services and a search function for locating formulae and casks.
Installation on macOS is performed through a Homebrew cask, with additional steps to resolve code‑signing and authorization issues. On Ubuntu the program is distributed as a Debian package; required fonts must be installed and the Homebrew installation path set manually. The software is built with Electron and Qt, using C++ and TypeScript, and is released under the MIT license.
Targeted at advanced and regular desktop users who prefer a visual tool over command‑line interactions, the app streamlines routine Homebrew tasks such as package discovery, installation management, and service control.
