Apache Cloudberry
Leverage advanced analytics with a modern PostgreSQL kernel. 100% open source for robust data solutions.
Apache Cloudberry is an open‑source massively parallel processing (MPP) database that builds on the original Greenplum Database codebase while incorporating a newer PostgreSQL kernel. It is designed to function as a data warehouse and to support large‑scale analytics, as well as AI and machine‑learning workloads. The project is incubating under the Apache Software Foundation and is positioned as a stable, mature utility for robust data solutions.
The system runs on Linux distributions such as RHEL, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu, as well as macOS, and can be deployed quickly via a Docker‑based sandbox for exploration of its features. A collection of related repositories provides extensions, connectors, backup tools, and a Platform Extension Framework (PXF) to integrate with external data sources.
Target users include data engineers, analysts, and developers who need a scalable, open‑source platform for complex analytical queries and machine‑learning data pipelines, while retaining compatibility with PostgreSQL‑based tooling and ecosystems.
