Dashcam Viewer

The application lets users play back video recordings from dashcams and action cams while simultaneously visualizing embedded GPS tracks, speed, direction, and G‑force metrics. It parses the data stored on the device’s SD card, automatically grouping consecutive recordings into trips and presenting them in a searchable list. Users can add custom map markers, export selected video segments or still images, and save GPS data in common file formats.

Designed for macOS (and also available on Windows), the software supports a wide range of dashcam models—over 140 listed—making it a common choice for manufacturers and owners. It includes audio event detection that highlights sudden volume changes, helping locate incidents such as collisions or horns quickly.

The interface combines a map view with a dashboard overlay, showing the vehicle’s route and driving statistics as the video plays. Export functions allow users to create shorter clips, combine multiple files, or extract GPS information for further analysis.
