DebOps
Your Debian-based data center in a box. A set of general-purpose Ansible roles that can be used to manage Debian or Ubuntu hosts.
DebOps supplies a collection of general‑purpose Ansible roles and accompanying playbooks designed to configure and maintain Debian or Ubuntu systems. The roles cover a wide range of data‑center services—including SQL/NoSQL databases, web servers, programming language runtimes, virtualization via KVM/libvirt, Docker, or LXC, as well as specific applications such as X.509 certificate handling, GitLab hosting, LibreNMS monitoring, and Nextcloud/ownCloud file services. By using Ansible inventory variables, the same role and playbook code can be reused across multiple environments, allowing services to be deployed on single hosts or distributed across many machines.
The project targets system administrators and DevOps engineers who need a reproducible, open‑source framework for bootstrapping and managing Debian‑based infrastructures, whether physical, virtual, or containerized. It emphasizes configurability through inventory and supports secure SSH‑based access, with optional Docker or Vagrant containers for quick experimentation.
DebOps is released under GPL‑3.0, self‑hostable, and available as a Python package or an Ansible Galaxy collection, providing a free, subscription‑free toolset for building and operating data‑center‑scale environments.
