Dia

Dia can be extended with a large collection of additional symbols, objects and stencils that are not included in the core installation. The repository offers shapes for many domains such as automata, AUTOSAR, building‑site plans, chemistry labs, circuit diagrams, HVAC, optics, renewable‑energy components and value‑stream mapping, among others. Users can browse the catalogue, download the desired sheets and install them into their Dia toolbox, either manually or with the small Diashapes utility that automates the process.

The project provides a Debian package (dia‑shapes) that bundles all available sheets for Linux users, and the same files can be used on macOS and Windows platforms. Installation instructions are included, and the shapes integrate seamlessly with Dia’s existing object library, allowing diagrams to combine standard objects with the newly added domain‑specific symbols.
