Duplicate Annihilator for Photos

The software scans a macOS Photos library (and older iPhoto, Aperture, and iOS libraries) to locate duplicate images and movies. It applies a set of detection algorithms, then groups the identified duplicates into a dedicated album where the user can review and delete them. For each duplicate set, the program selects the file with the highest resolution, least destructive compression, and preferred format to keep, while copying titles, captions, and keywords from the discarded copies to the retained original.

Metadata handling ensures that any information added to duplicates is preserved, and if a duplicate appears in an album, it is replaced with the original so album contents stay consistent. The tool is configurable for advanced users, allowing control over detection parameters and handling of quality‑variant copies.
