iPhoto Library Manager
App for organising photos among multiple iPhoto libraries
iPhoto Library Manager lets macOS users work with several iPhoto libraries without consolidating everything into a single, large file. It provides a unified view of the contents of all libraries, allowing browsing and searching across them from a single interface, so users can locate specific photos without opening each library individually.
The tool supports copying photos between libraries while preserving metadata such as titles, dates, descriptions, keywords, ratings, faces, and place information. It also reconstructs events and albums and transfers both edited and original versions of images. Users can split a large library into smaller ones, merge multiple libraries into one, or rebuild a corrupted library that causes iPhoto to crash.
In addition, iPhoto Library Manager can detect duplicate images across libraries, presenting side‑by‑side comparisons and enabling removal of unnecessary copies. Duplicate detection is also applied during merges and copies to avoid creating redundant files. The application is discontinued and no longer supported, with users advised to migrate to newer tools for Apple’s Photos app.
