Endless Sky

Endless Sky is a 2‑D open‑source game that lets players pilot a starship through a galaxy of roughly two hundred star systems. Players can explore routes, engage in combat with pirates or other factions, and take part in a civil war, while also interacting with alien cultures beyond the known Rim. The game’s universe is built around a network of hyperspace links that connect inhabited worlds, offering a mix of trading routes and mission opportunities.

The core gameplay revolves around earning credits by transporting passengers, trading goods, mining asteroids, or completing contract missions. Revenue can be spent on new ships or on upgrading a vessel’s weapons, engines, power generators, cooling systems, and other equipment, allowing players to balance speed, firepower, and cargo capacity. Reputation and cargo space affect the availability of higher‑paying jobs and more challenging combat scenarios.
