FileFaker

FileFaker is a native macOS utility that creates synthetic files of various formats and user on demand. It supports more than ten file types—including documents such as PDF, DOCX, and CSV; media files like JPG, PNG, MP3, and MP4; and archives such as ZIP and RAR—allowing users to specify exact file sizes, even beyond 4 GB. All generation occurs locally, so no internet connection is required and no data leaves the computer, preserving privacy.

The tool is aimed at testers, developers, and product managers who need realistic test data for validating file‑upload validation, MIME type detection, download and processing performance, or load‑testing scenarios. By producing files that match the required type and size, it eliminates the need to search for or manually craft sample data.
