firebird

Firebird is an open‑source emulator that replicates the functionality of Texas Instruments Nspire calculators, including the Touchpad (CAS), CX (CAS) and CX II (‑T/CAS) models. It runs on a range of desktop and mobile operating systems—macOS, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS—allowing users to execute the same programs and perform the same calculations as on the original hardware. The project builds on Qt 5 and is distributed under the GPLv3 license.

The emulator targets students, educators and hobbyists who need a virtual Nspire environment without the physical device, or who wish to develop and test software for the calculator platform. By providing a faithful software recreation, it enables the same interface and feature set across multiple platforms, supporting both CAS and non‑CAS workflows.

Source code is available on GitHub, with automated builds for Android, macOS and Windows, and community‑maintained instructions for compiling the application on other systems. The project continues the work originally started by Goplat and is actively maintained as a stable release.
