Furtherance

Furtherance is a desktop time‑tracking application that records how long you spend on individual tasks, allowing each entry to be linked to a project, a monetary rate, and custom tags. It includes a built‑in Pomodoro timer with short breaks and longer periodic breaks, helping users structure work intervals. The program runs on macOS, Linux, and Windows, storing all data locally on the user’s machine; an optional sync feature encrypts data end‑to‑end for cloud storage.

The interface can be customized through settings that adjust the default view and behavior, and tasks remain editable after creation. Because the software keeps all records on the device, it avoids external collection or sale of usage data. Users can request new functionality by opening issues on the project’s GitHub repository.
