IEM Plug-in Suite

The IEM Plug‑in Suite provides a collection of free, open‑source audio plugins for Ambisonic processing up to seventh order. Implemented as VST2, LV2 and standalone applications, the suite runs on macOS and is distributed under a stable maturity level. It is developed by staff and students of the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics.

Key components include a DualDelay with DAW‑synchronised timing and signal warping, a GranularEncoder that transforms mono or stereo material into Ambisonic granular textures, and a MultiBandCompressor that applies four‑band compression while preserving spatial imaging. The StereoEncoder encodes stereo sources with adjustable orientation, width and quaternion‑driven rotation, and the RoomEncoder simulates a shoebox‑shaped environment with configurable wall reflections, Doppler effects and shelving filters.

The suite targets composers, sound designers and researchers working with spatial audio, offering tools for encoding, synthesis, dynamics processing and virtual‑room rendering within a unified, cross‑platform framework.
