InkOS provides an autonomous AI agent for novel writing, handling drafting, reviewing, and revising across genres such as fantasy, sci‑fi, urban, and wuxia. It supports continuation, side stories, fan‑fiction, and imitation styles, with human‑in‑the‑loop moderation to keep authors in control. The tool can be run locally via a web‑based Studio interface, a full‑screen TUI, or as a command‑line program, all sharing the same interaction core.

Developers and writers can install the package globally with npm and configure language models either through Studio’s visual settings or by setting environment variables for CLI, daemon, or container deployments. Supported providers include Google Gemini, Moonshot, MiniMax, and custom endpoints, with API keys stored securely in project‑specific secret files. The agent exposes atomic commands such as “plan chapter,” “compose chapter,” “draft,” “audit,” and “revise,” which can be invoked directly or through OpenClaw skill integration.

The system tracks book metadata, chapter reviews, writing progress, market trends, data analysis, AI detection, style analysis, and theme management. It also offers a daemon mode for background processing and a “truth file” editor for fine‑grained control. English language writing is enabled via a language flag.
