MacMusicPlayer

A clean, lightweight music player for macOS users. ![Open-Source Software][OSS Icon] ![Freeware][Freeware Icon]

A minimalist menu‑bar music player for macOS that runs without a Dock icon, offering instant control over playback. It supports a range of audio formats—including MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG, and AIFF—and provides multiple playback modes such as sequential, single loop, and random. Users can manage several music libraries, refresh them quickly, and enjoy built‑in YouTube and SoundCloud search with playlist downloads, which rely on yt‑dlp and ffmpeg.

The interface follows native macOS design, automatically adapting to light and dark themes, and includes multi‑language support for English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Keyboard shortcuts and media‑key integration enable quick actions like downloading tracks, opening settings, and toggling playback. The application remembers the last folder and volume, launches at login by default, and offers a prevent‑sleep toggle.

Installation is available via Homebrew or a downloadable DMG, with the latter requiring manual installation of yt‑dlp and ffmpeg. The project is open source under the MIT license, and contributions are encouraged through issues and pull requests.
