Maddy Mail Server

All-in-one mail server that implements SMTP (both MTA and MX) and IMAP. Replaces Postfix, Dovecot, OpenDKIM, OpenSPF, OpenDMARC with single daemon.

Maddy Mail Server is a single‑daemon solution that provides all core components of an e‑mail system. It functions as an MTA for outbound SMTP, as an MX for inbound SMTP, and offers IMAP access to stored messages. The server also implements mandatory security extensions such as DKIM, SPF, DMARC, DANE, and MTA‑STS, allowing it to replace the traditional stack of Postfix, Dovecot, OpenDKIM, OpenSPF, OpenDMARC and similar tools with a unified configuration.

The software targets administrators who wish to self‑host a mail service while minimizing maintenance overhead. Its composable architecture lets users enable or disable modules such as SMTP/LMTP, IMAP4rev1, TLS with automatic ACME certificates, and telemetry via OpenMetrics/Prometheus. Configuration is handled through a single file, and the project provides tutorials, documentation, and community support channels.

Maddy is released under GPL‑3.0, is marked as stable, and is offered as a free, subscription‑free, open‑source package. IMAP storage is currently in beta, indicating that users requiring a fully mature IMAP implementation may still prefer dedicated solutions, while Maddy handles message delivery reliably.
