Markedly - Convert files to Markdown

The app lets macOS users convert a wide range of file types—Word documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, and common image formats—into GitHub‑Flavored Markdown. Users can drag and drop single files or entire folders, and the converted Markdown files are saved alongside the originals. The conversion process runs entirely on the local machine, with no uploads, accounts, or analytics, ensuring that content remains private and usable offline.

Integration with macOS Shortcuts and the Finder Services menu enables conversions without opening the main window, supporting batch operations and automation workflows. The output follows the GitHub‑Flavored Markdown specification, providing tables, task lists, strikethrough, and other extensions that are natively supported by note‑taking and AI tools such as Obsidian, Bear, Notion, Claude, and ChatGPT.
