Marker Data
The avant-garde Marker extraction application crafted for Final Cut Pro.
Marker Data is a macOS utility that reads Final Cut Pro’s marker metadata and converts it into a variety of export formats. It can batch‑extract still images or animated GIFs at each marker’s timecode, embed colour swatches from those images, and attach full metadata to the generated assets. The application also supports creating PDFs, subtitles, MIDI files and other media‑type outputs directly from markers.
The tool is aimed at video editors and post‑production teams who need to synchronize timeline annotations with external databases or publishing platforms. It offers native integration with Final Cut Pro via a Share Destination and Workflow Extension, and can push marker data to cloud services such as Notion and Airtable with a single click. Additional export options include CSV, TSV, XLSX, Markdown, SRT, YouTube and Compressor chapters, and standard MIDI files.
Implemented in Swift and SwiftUI, Marker Data runs on macOS, is open‑source under the MIT license, and is notarised by Apple. It provides configurable extraction profiles, support for projects and compound clips, and the ability to treat captions as markers, giving users flexible ways to organise and share shot references and timeline information.
