MDS

MDS is a macOS application that builds and runs deployment workflows for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It can install macOS, add applications, execute scripts, create user accounts, and apply configuration settings. Workflows may be stored on an external drive or hosted on a web server, allowing them to be launched locally or over a network.

The tool integrates with external hardware and management solutions such as DFU Blaster Pro, Automaton 2, Acroname USB‑C hubs, MDM systems, and Apple Configurator, enabling automated provisioning and restoration of Macs. It also supports creating bootable macOS volumes and saving workflow images for repeatable use.

MDS is positioned for organizations that need to set up many Macs quickly, from small‑scale deployments of a few hundred devices to larger environments handling up to a thousand units per year. It is compatible with Macs released from 2013 onward and is offered as an open‑source project with stable maturity.
