mdv
Styled terminal markdown viewer.
A terminal‑based Markdown viewer written in Python that renders headings, tables, code blocks, and admonitions with ANSI colors. It includes over two hundred luminance‑sorted themes derived from HTML styles, allowing separate schemes for regular text and code snippets. The tool can be invoked from the command line to display a file, monitor changes and automatically refresh the view, and wrap text to fit the terminal width.
It is useful for developers and writers who work with Markdown files in environments without a graphical browser, such as remote servers, security‑restricted machines, or within other CLI applications (e.g., displaying help text or docstrings). The viewer also supports source‑code highlighting via Pygments and can be used as a library in Python projects.
Features include a simple file‑change monitor (polling based), support for wide tables without interleaving, and the ability to pipe the rendered output to external commands. The implementation resides in a single module, making it easy to customize or extend.
