Moonlight

GameStream client for PCs (Windows, Mac, Linux, and Steam Link).

Source

Moonlight is an open‑source client that lets a PC act as a remote display for games and desktop sessions streamed from a host running NVIDIA GameStream or the Sunshine server. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Steam Link devices, and supports hardware‑accelerated video decoding, HDR, and a range of codecs including H.264, HEVC and AV1 when the host GPU permits. Audio is delivered with 7.1 surround sound, and the client can capture pointer input for games or provide direct mouse control for remote desktop use.

The software targets gamers and power users who want low‑latency streaming of their local PC to other machines, as well as developers building multi‑platform streaming solutions. It offers gamepad support with force feedback for up to sixteen players, multitouch on Sunshine hosts, and the ability to forward system keyboard shortcuts such as Alt+Tab to the host.

Moonlight is distributed under a free‑tier open‑source license and is available through native installers, Snap, Flatpak, AppImage, and various ARM and RISC‑V packages. Community contributions include translations via Weblate and ongoing development discussed on a public Discord server.
