Mudlet

Mudlet is a cross‑platform client for playing text‑based multiplayer games, commonly known as MUDs. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Chromebooks and Raspberry Pi, allowing the same Lua scripts and user profiles to be used across different machines. The client includes a customizable text display, a built‑in mapper, and support for over twenty pre‑configured MUDs, while also being able to connect to any other MUD that follows standard protocols.

The software is designed for both players and creators. Players can automate gameplay, add visual enhancements, and tailor the interface through Lua scripting. Creators can use Mudlet’s toolkit to embed visual flair or additional features into their own text games, and the client’s open‑source nature permits full modification of its UI and functionality.

Mudlet is free, open source, and lightweight, with a focus on performance that can handle large in‑game events. Community support is provided via a Discord channel, and the project encourages sharing of scripts and profiles to streamline the setup process for new users.
