Nagstamon
Nagios status monitor
Nagstamon is a desktop status monitor that aggregates alerts from multiple monitoring servers and presents a concise overview of host and service health. It resides in the system tray, as a floating bar, or fullscreen, showing counts of critical, warning, unknown, unreachable, and down items, and expands to a detailed view when the mouse hovers over it. Users can establish connections to hosts and services via context‑menu actions and launch external tools such as SSH, RDP, or VNC directly from the interface.
The application supports a wide range of monitoring back‑ends, including Nagios (all major versions), Icinga, Opsview, Centreon, Checkmk, Zabbix, Prometheus, and several experimental sources. Filters based on categories or regular expressions let users focus on specific subsets of alerts. Visual and audible notifications can be enabled, and the program runs on many desktop environments across Linux, Windows, BSD, and macOS.
Implemented in Python 3 with Qt 5/6, Nagstamon is released under GPL v2, making it free to use, modify, and redistribute. Its cross‑platform GUI and integration with common remote‑access tools aim to provide a lightweight, always‑available view of network status without requiring a separate browser window.
