Navidrome Music Server
Modern Music Server and Streamer, compatible with Subsonic/Airsonic.
Navidrome provides a self‑hosted web server that indexes a music collection and streams it to browsers and mobile apps. It supports the Subsonic/Madsonic/Airsonic API, allowing any compatible client on iOS, Android, or desktop to browse, play, and manage tracks. The server reads full metadata, handles compilations and multi‑disc albums, and can monitor the library for new files automatically.
The software is designed for low resource consumption and runs on macOS, Linux, Windows, and Raspberry Pi, with Docker images and pre‑built binaries available. It offers per‑user accounts with separate play counts, playlists, and favourites, and can transcode audio on the fly, including Opus encoding, to suit bandwidth constraints. A responsive Material‑UI web interface is themeable and works across devices.
Navidrome is released under GPL‑3.0, is actively maintained, and welcomes contributions via GitHub. It targets users who want a personal, free streaming service for large music libraries without relying on commercial platforms.
