NetAlertX

Network intruder and presence detector. Scans for devices connected to your network and alerts you if new and unknown devices are found.

The software continuously scans a local network, builds an up‑to‑date inventory of all connected devices, and generates alerts when new or unknown hardware appears. It aggregates data from multiple sources such as ARP scans, DHCP lease tables, Pi‑hole logs, UniFi controllers, and SNMP‑enabled routers, providing a centralized view of asset presence and IP address changes across distributed sites.

It is intended for users who need to monitor network integrity, detect shadow‑IT devices, and maintain regulatory compliance without deploying full‑scale SIEM solutions. The system can run as a self‑hosted Docker container, integrates with Home Assistant, and offers a plugin architecture for extending discovery methods or notification channels.

The project is released under GPL‑3.0, is free to use without subscription, and is maintained as a stable, open‑source utility. Documentation, quick‑start guides, and community support are available through its website and Discord channel.
