Okta Advanced Server Access

The macOS Advanced Server Access client enables end users to authenticate securely to corporate servers using Okta’s identity and access management framework. It is installed from the official client repositories, where a chosen version is downloaded and run as an installation package, after which the client is enrolled to establish a trusted connection between the user’s workstation and the target server.

Designed for developers and IT teams that need to protect privileged access, the client integrates with Okta’s Access Gateway and Identity Engine components to enforce authentication policies and to audit access events. It operates on macOS, providing a native experience for users on that platform.

The software is listed as stable and is part of Okta’s broader suite of security tools. As of May 1 2026, new sales and renewals are being discontinued, with existing customers directed to migrate to Okta Privileged Access within a year of their next renewal.
