PhotoPrism

Personal photo management powered by Go and Google TensorFlow. Browse, organize, and share your personal photo collection, using the latest technologies to automatically tag and find pictures.

The software provides a self‑hosted, open‑source platform for managing personal photo and video collections. It runs on Go and uses Google TensorFlow to generate automatic tags, labels, and facial recognitions, allowing users to search by content, location, resolution, color, and other metadata. The web interface supports browsing RAW images and video formats, and a progressive‑web‑app delivers a native‑like experience on phones, tablets, and desktops.

Users can organize libraries with powerful filters, view live photos on hover, and explore six high‑resolution world maps that integrate a privacy‑preserving geocoding service. Metadata from Exif, XMP and other sources can be merged, and the system offers WebDAV access and compatibility with backup apps such as PhotoSync for background syncing from mobile devices.

The project emphasizes privacy and freedom: it is self‑funded, does not sell data, and can be deployed on a home server, private infrastructure, or cloud without reliance on external services. It is released under the AGPL‑3.0 license and is considered stable.
