Pinghawk - Know Why APIs Break
See exactly what happened at the moment your API failed
Pinghawk records a forensic snapshot each time an API endpoint becomes unavailable, capturing DNS resolution time, TLS handshake duration, time‑to‑first‑byte and the raw response body. The snapshot is attached to the alert, allowing developers to see the exact network conditions and server response that accompanied the failure without needing to log in to the host or search logs after the fact.
The tool is aimed at engineers who maintain public or internal APIs and need rapid insight into outages caused by network‑level issues, upstream errors, or misbehaving services. It works from outside the target system, complementing existing observability stacks rather than replacing them, and can be configured in under a minute.
During the beta period the service is offered for free, with integration options such as Slack, Discord, webhooks and cron jobs. Alerts include status codes, timing metrics and any error payload, reducing the time required to diagnose the root cause of an API disruption.
