PureMac

PureMac is a free, open‑source macOS utility that removes unwanted files and manages applications without any telemetry or data collection. It can uninstall whole applications by locating all related bundles, caches, preferences, logs and support files using a multi‑level heuristic engine, and it protects system and Apple‑provided apps from removal. The tool also scans for orphaned files left in the user Library after an app has been deleted.

The system cleaner performs a “smart scan” that targets system caches, temporary files, user caches, mail attachments, trash bins, large or old files, APFS purgeable space, Xcode derived data, and Homebrew download caches. Users can schedule automatic scans at configurable intervals, and the interface presents results in a native SwiftUI layout that respects macOS light and dark modes.

Safety features include confirmation dialogs, symlink attack prevention, path validation before deletion, and structured logging accessible via Console.app. Installation is available through Homebrew cask, direct DMG download, or building from source.
