ShadowsocksX-NG

ShadowsocksX‑NG provides a macOS graphical interface for the Shadowsocks‑libev tunnel client (ss‑local). It runs the ss‑local binary as a background launch agent, allowing the proxy to stay active even after the application is closed. The GUI, rewritten in Swift, lets users configure server profiles, import them via QR code, URL, or clipboard, and share profiles similarly.

The client supports SIP003 plugins and bundles additional tools such as kcptun, simple‑obfs, and v2ray‑plugin. It can update its PAC file by downloading the GFW list from GitHub, offers custom PAC rules, and includes an optional manual mode that disables automatic system proxy configuration so applications can be pointed to the SOCKS5 proxy directly. HTTP proxying is available through an integrated Privoxy instance.

Designed for macOS 10.12 and later, ShadowsocksX‑NG requires Xcode 12.5.1+ and CocoaPods 1.10.1+ to build. It is released under GPLv3 and maintained as a stable, production‑ready tunneling proxy for users needing configurable, plugin‑enhanced network routing on macOS.
