Apple Store Time Machine
3D reconstruction of Apple Retail Stores on their opening days
The application lets users explore four historic Apple retail locations as they appeared on their grand opening days, presenting each store in a detailed three‑dimensional reconstruction. By navigating these virtual spaces, users can experience the original layout, design elements, and surrounding environment of the stores at those specific moments in time.
It is intended for anyone interested in Apple’s retail history, including enthusiasts, designers, and educators who want to observe how the stores evolved and how early Apple products were displayed. The experience includes notable sites such as the first Apple Store at Tysons Corner (2001), the Stanford Shopping Center store (2004), the Fifth Avenue flagship (2006), and the Infinite Loop campus (2015).
The software runs on macOS systems equipped with Apple silicon or recent Intel processors, and it is distributed as a free download of about 610 MB. Development and design were handled by Michael Steeber, with audio and user‑interface sounds contributed by Robert Steeber.
