Skyty

Skyty is an iOS application that tracks a flight’s position, altitude, ground speed and heading using the device’s GPS without requiring any network connection. It continuously updates real‑time coordinates and displays them on a GPU‑rendered vector world map, offering four visual themes including aviation‑focused and satellite views. The app also calculates altitude above ground using NASA SRTM terrain data, allowing users to switch between mean sea level and ellipsoidal references.

The software records each flight automatically, detecting take‑off and landing, drawing the route, plotting altitude profiles and exporting the data as GPX files. It integrates with Apple Watch and iOS Live Activity features, providing lock‑screen banners, Dynamic Island updates and watch‑screen for quick reference during the journey.

Additional functionality includes a landmark spotting feature that identifies prominent geographic features such as mountains, lakes, volcanoes and major cities beneath the aircraft, ranked by relevance. Skyty is positioned for travelers who need offline flight information and is distributed as a one‑time purchase with no subscription requirements.
