Smuggl
Share your localhost as an invite only link
The tool creates a secure, invite‑only URL that forwards traffic from a public WebSocket endpoint to a developer’s local server. When the command is run, a unique link is generated and the machine’s localhost is never directly exposed; all data passes through an encrypted WebSocket connection managed by the service.
Incoming requests are held at the service’s server, where the user can view the visitor’s IP address and requested path before approving or blocking the connection. Approved traffic is transparently proxied to the local server, allowing the remote viewer to see the site as if it were hosted publicly, while the tunnel can be terminated instantly by closing the client, leaving no lingering DNS records or sessions.
The software is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, requires macOS 12+ for the provided install script, and offers a free tier with limited request and bandwidth caps as well as a paid lifetime license that raises those limits. It is positioned as an experimental developer utility.
