Stik
Quick-capture markdown notes app with hotkeys and AI semantic search.
Stik provides a fast, keyboard‑driven way to capture thoughts on macOS. A global shortcut summons a floating markdown editor, where the user types a note and closes the window; the content is saved instantly as a plain markdown file in a dedicated folder. The app works without onboarding, accounts, or external sync, and it runs on macOS 10.15 or later.
Notes can be organized into built‑in or user‑defined folders, moved with keystrokes, and searched instantly. A rich editor supports syntax‑highlighted markdown, wiki‑style links, collapsible headings, image paste/drop, task lists, interactive tables, and slash‑command templates, with optional Vim mode. On‑device AI powered by Apple’s NaturalLanguage framework supplies semantic search, smart folder suggestions, and note embeddings while keeping all data local.
Additional capabilities include pinning notes as desktop sticky notes, copying notes in various formats, syncing folders via git, importing from Apple Notes, and switching between system, light, or dark themes. A capture streak feature tracks daily usage.
