Tastemaker
Organize visual inspiration locally. No cloud, no login.
Tastemaker is an offline desktop application that lets creatives collect, tag, and retrieve visual references stored on their own devices. Users can point the program at any folder containing screenshots, photos, scans, or textures, and the software will automatically or manually create collections that remain on the local machine. Images are searchable by keywords, project, mood, or style, and the tool supports a moodboard canvas where users can arrange images, add text and shapes, and pin the board above other applications such as Photoshop, Blender, or Figma.
The software emphasizes privacy and performance: it never uploads files to the cloud, requires no login, and keeps original files untouched. Smart tagging and virtualized scrolling enable fast navigation even with tens of thousands of images, while portable tags and moodboards can be exported and re‑imported on another computer, preserving metadata.
Designed for macOS and Windows, Tastemaker targets individual creators who need a local‑first visual reference system that integrates smoothly into their workflow without external services.
