The Second Past - Survive History

The game places the player in a historically modeled era—ranging from Stone Age Britain to World‑War‑II Germany—armed only with personal knowledge and basic clothing. Each session begins with a choice of period, after which the player types actions in ordinary English. An internal “Occam’s Razor Engine” evaluates the action against the era’s documented prices, laws, social structures and survival pressures, then rolls a probabilistic outcome and narrates the result.

Because death is permanent and there is no plot protection, every run ends when the character dies, and the primary goal is to survive as many days as possible. The system tracks each player’s survival length, ranking them on a leaderboard and generating a six‑panel illustrated chronicle of the final run.

Additional modes let observers watch live runs, view historical leaderboards, and explore a personal legacy of past survivals. The experience focuses on emergent storytelling through player‑driven choices within historically constrained environments.
