Thorium Reader

Thorium Reader provides a cross‑platform application for opening and navigating digital publications, including EPUB 2, EPUB 3 (reflow and fixed‑layout), PDF, DAISY 2.02 and 3, audiobooks, and Divina visual narratives. It supports LCP‑protected files across these formats and offers basic document controls such as pagination and print‑page extraction. The program is available for Windows 10/11, macOS, and Linux, with localized interfaces in many languages.

The software emphasizes accessibility, offering features tailored for visually impaired and dyslexic users, such as adjustable luminosity, font selection, size, spacing, hyphenation, and a sepia mode. It is free, open source, and does not contain advertisements or collect private data, making it suitable for heavy readers, library patrons, and students who need a reliable, privacy‑respecting reading tool.

Development is driven by the EDRLab community and funded through grants and donations. Documentation and download links are provided in English and French, and the application can be obtained via the Windows Store for Windows users.
