Time Out

Easy break reminders, with micro-break and flexible customization if you want it. ![Freeware][Freeware Icon]

Visit

The application runs on macOS and periodically reminds the user to step away from the computer. It offers two default break types: a “Normal” break of about ten minutes each hour and a “Micro” break of roughly fifteen seconds every fifteen minutes. Users can edit, disable, or delete these breaks and create additional ones such as fixed lunch or afternoon intervals, adjusting both duration and frequency.

When a break starts the screen dims and a selectable theme appears; themes may be simple HTML/CSS/JavaScript pages, YouTube videos, text, or images. A progress bar shows remaining time, and optional buttons let the user postpone or skip the break. The program can also trigger actions—notifications, spoken text, sounds, or execution of Automator workflows or AppleScript—before, during, or after a break.

An optional activity tracker records break occurrences and application usage, providing visual summaries of how much time is spent working versus resting. The software is free, stable, and intended for anyone who wants regular, customizable reminders to reduce prolonged computer use.
