USB Overdrive

USB Overdrive is a macOS driver that enables customization of a wide range of USB and Bluetooth input devices, including mice, keyboards, trackballs, joysticks, and gamepads from most manufacturers. It provides per‑device settings such as scroll‑axis inversion, modifier‑key scroll swapping, and other adjustments that are not available through the default macOS handling of these peripherals. The software deliberately excludes Apple‑branded mice, keyboards, and trackpads, which are managed by the operating system’s built‑in drivers.

The current stable release, version 5.3.1, supports macOS releases from Monterey (12.x) through Ventura (13.x) and Sequoia (15.x), with earlier versions available for older macOS releases. Installation requires removal of any prior USB Overdrive version, and the driver works with both USB and Bluetooth connections.

Notable updates in recent versions include restored support for Logitech M720 devices that were previously identified as keyboards, and new options for swapping and inverting scroll axes, along with various minor bug fixes.
