X Island

X Island provides a macOS‑native interface that embeds the system’s Dynamic Island to display real‑time information from AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode. It shows session status, prompts, and answers, allowing users to approve actions, answer questions, or jump directly to a terminal window without leaving the notch area. The tool offers two visual modes—pill or notch—to fit different screen layouts.

Designed for developers who spend extensive time interacting with AI‑driven code assistants, X Island emphasizes keyboard‑first operation and minimal friction. It routes agent output into concise visual tiles, tracks multiple concurrent sessions, and lets users intervene with a single click or keystroke, keeping the workflow within the macOS environment.

The project is experimental and distributed as a Homebrew cask. It is built with native Swift, focusing on a small set of well‑supported agents rather than broad but shallow compatibility, and aims to maintain a smooth developer experience while monitoring and managing AI‑generated code.
