Yippy

Yippy is an open‑source clipboard manager for macOS that records items copied to the system pasteboard and presents them in a straightforward graphical interface. The application stores each clipboard entry as a separate file, allowing users to scroll through a history of text, attributed text, and other supported items, and to retrieve previous copies with a toggle hotkey. Features such as launch‑at‑login and configurable history length are already implemented, while the project tracks additional enhancements like expanded pasteboard types, keyboard shortcut preferences, and search capabilities.

The tool is targeted at macOS users who need a reliable way to access past clipboard contents without relying on built‑in system limits. Its design emphasizes simplicity and ease of use, making it suitable for everyday productivity tasks, code snippets, or any workflow that involves frequent copy‑and‑paste operations.

Development is organized into three schemes—production, beta, and testing—to separate stable releases from ongoing work. Contributions are welcomed through pull requests, bug reports, and feature suggestions, and the project provides Homebrew Cask installation as well as a custom installer script for creating disk images.
