It can also record captions during audio capture, export them in common formats such as TXT, SRT, PDF and LRC, and perform batch transcription and translation of files in a directory. The app supports offline subtitle generation, works without an internet connection, and uses Apple’s CoreML and Speech frameworks to keep recognition processing on the device.

In addition to captioning, YPlayer offers on‑the‑fly translation of subtitles into multiple languages, including Chinese, English, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish, with support for more languages in future updates. Features such as subtitle repetition, fuzzy search, hard‑coded subtitle blurring, and video bookmarking aid language learning and content navigation. The iOS version also includes voice‑over support for visually impaired users.

The software runs on macOS, iPhone and iPad, handling up to ten languages simultaneously for live translation and captioning. It emphasizes privacy by not uploading audio or video data, and it can operate fully offline, making it suitable for environments with limited network access.
