Zero-K

Open Source on Springrts engine. Zero-K is a traditional real time strategy game with a focus on player creativity through terrain manipulation, physics, and a large roster of unique units - all while being balanced to support competitive play.

Zero‑K is a free, open‑source real‑time strategy game built on the Spring engine. It offers physics‑driven unit and projectile behavior, allowing players to exploit terrain, line of sight, and gravity effects during battles. The game includes a large roster of over a hundred distinct units, each with its own abilities, and supports terrain manipulation such as creating craters, digging canals, and constructing bridges or ramps.

The title provides both single‑player and multiplayer modes. A campaign and a variety of non‑cheating AI opponents give solo players many hours of play, while competitive multiplayer accommodates matches from 1v1 up to 16v16, free‑for‑all, and cooperative games. Multiplayer is balanced for fair competition and does not involve in‑game currency or microtransactions.

Zero‑K is distributed under the GPL‑2.0 license, is self‑hostable, and requires no subscription. Its source code is publicly available, and the community maintains additional repositories for assets, tools, and development documentation.
