ZeroVote
Elections no one can rig
ZeroVote implements a cryptographic voting protocol in which ballots are timelock‑encrypted until a predefined reveal time, preventing any early result disclosure. At the reveal moment a distributed beacon unlocks all ballots simultaneously, and an automated tally runs without human intervention, eliminating the possibility of selective counting or manipulation. Each vote is wrapped in a zero‑knowledge proof and stored in a Merkle tree, guaranteeing that only valid ballots contribute to the final outcome.
All election data are published on a public bulletin board, and an open‑source verifier can independently decrypt the results, validate every proof, and recompute the tally, allowing any observer to confirm the election’s integrity. The system’s deterministic output enables trustless integration with on‑chain governance or other decision‑making processes.
ZeroVote targets use cases where trust is a concern, such as award ceremonies, shareholder meetings, homeowners‑association votes, union ballots, DAO governance, political party primaries, sports awards, film‑festival juries, and competition judging. By removing the need for a trusted counting authority, it offers a verifiable, end‑to‑end transparent election mechanism.
