Alifix
Refreshes aliases and identifies broken aliases
It scans directories on macOS to locate all Finder aliases, refreshes their internal references, and reports any that are broken. The tool can optionally write a side‑by‑side text file containing the alias’s internal details to aid manual repair. Because it works recursively, it is useful after copying or cloning large folders or volumes and can be run periodically for housekeeping.
The software is a native macOS application, distributed as a universal binary that runs on Intel and Apple‑silicon systems across recent macOS releases. It integrates with the operating system’s file‑reference mechanisms, handling aliases created by the companion command‑line utility alisma as well as standard Finder aliases.
Its primary audience is users who manage extensive file collections on macOS and need to maintain reliable shortcut links, such as power users, system administrators, or anyone performing large‑scale file migrations. The focus is on keeping alias references accurate and identifying broken links without requiring manual inspection.
