MacPAR deLuxe

MacPAR deLuxe is a macOS utility designed for handling binary files obtained from Usenet newsgroups. After downloading a set of split files that together form a RAR archive, the program verifies the completeness and integrity of the set, using PAR and PAR2 files to recover any missing or damaged parts. Once verification succeeds, it can unpack the archive with its built‑in unrar engine or launch an external program to do so.

The application supports both PAR 1 and PAR 2 standards and integrates with the Finder, allowing users to start verification, recovery, and extraction simply by double‑clicking a .par or .par2 file. It provides a clear status overview of each file, can create new PAR/PAR2 volume sets by dragging files into the window, and can run multiple jobs simultaneously or queue them to reduce system load. Performance is optimized for multi‑core processors, and the tool is compatible with other PAR and RAR utilities.

MacPAR deLuxe runs on macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) and later, with older versions available for earlier releases. The software includes extensive documentation, many configurable options, and a shareware model that permits donations. Its core verification engine, par2SL, is based on an open‑source project.
