Anchr
Toolbox for tiny tasks on the internet, including bookmark collections, URL shortening and (encrypted) image uploads.
Anchr provides a self‑hostable web toolbox for three everyday internet tasks: managing bookmark collections, shortening URLs, and uploading images. Users can organize links into searchable categories, add optional descriptions, and access the collections from any device without syncing a browser profile. The image service supports client‑side encryption with a password, ensuring that only recipients who know the password can view the content.
The link shortener creates compact URLs for long or complex addresses and checks each target against Google’s Safe Browsing API to guard against malicious sites. Anchr also offers optional integrations such as a Chrome/Firefox extension, an Android app, a Telegram bot, and ShareX support, along with OAuth 2 authentication and Prometheus metrics for monitoring.
The project is released under GPL‑3.0, runs on Node.js and MongoDB (or compatible alternatives), and can be deployed on personal infrastructure or used via the hosted, GDPR‑compliant service at Anchr.io. It targets users who need lightweight, privacy‑focused tools for sharing and retrieving web resources.
