AutoVolume
Tool that automatically sets the volume to a specified volume
AutoVolume is a macOS utility that automatically adjusts the system’s audio level to a predefined value when certain system events occur. Currently it triggers on wake‑from‑sleep, allowing users to enforce a desired volume—commonly zero—to avoid unexpected loud playback after the computer resumes. The tool is implemented as a macOS agent and demonstrates basic macOS development techniques.
The application targets macOS users who want a simple, hands‑free way to control volume after sleep without manual intervention. It is useful for environments where sudden audio can be disruptive, such as shared workspaces or nighttime use. The project is stable and distributed as a core macOS component.
Future enhancements listed in the repository include optional notifications, device selection, additional trigger events, threshold‑based changes, and a menu‑bar icon. Contributions are welcomed, and the software is released under an open‑source license.
