Bye AppQuit
A minimal menu bar app to quickly view and kill running processes.
A native macOS utility built with SwiftUI that lives in the menu bar, letting users view running applications and quit them with a single click. The interface lists all user‑launched apps, supports selecting or deselecting individual items, and can terminate the entire set instantly, helping keep the workspace uncluttered. It adapts to Light and Dark Mode with a glass‑morphic design while using minimal CPU resources when idle.
The app targets designers, developers, and any macOS users who regularly juggle many programs and want a quick way to close them without manually locating each window. Installation is straightforward via a downloadable zip or by building from source in Xcode, and the first launch requires a one‑time permission grant for background monitoring. It runs on macOS Ventura (13.0) or newer.
Being open source under an MIT/GPL license, the project invites contributions and transparency. The code relies on Apple’s native frameworks—Swift, SwiftUI, and AppKit’s NSWorkspace—for process management, ensuring a lightweight footprint and native look and feel.
