Cursorcerer

Preference Pane for controlling cursor hiding

Visit

A macOS Preference Pane adds a global hotkey that instantly hides the cursor, and can also auto‑hide it after a period of inactivity, restoring it as soon as the mouse moves. The tool is installed by double‑clicking the pane, and the default shortcut (Control‑Option‑K) toggles the cursor visibility. Users can remove it by deleting the pane from the user’s Library folder.

The utility is aimed at users who need an unobstructed screen for activities such as watching embedded videos full‑screen, presenting, or working with applications where the pointer interferes with the workflow. It supports both Apple‑silicon and Intel Macs and runs on recent macOS releases including Tahoe, Sequoia, and Sonoma.

Cursorcerer is a signed, notarized binary that follows a technique originally described on the Apple carbon‑dev mailing list. Legacy 32‑bit versions are still available, and the project is maintained as a stable, open‑source offering.
